Acipimox is a medication that lowers cholesterol and triglycerides. It works by preventing fat from reaching the liver and being transformed into cholesterol.
This oral medication should be taken after meals.

Hypercholesterolemia; hypertriglyceridemia.

Cutaneous vasodilation; itch; feeling of heat, redness; Headache; ache; burning in the pit of the stomach; weakness.
Contraindications
Pregnancy and breastfeeding; hypersensitivity to nicotinic acid derivatives; peptic ulcer.
How to use
Adults: hypertriglyceridemia 250 mg twice a day; hypercholesterolemia or associated with hyperglyceridemia 250 mg 3x daily; renal failure patients should adapt the dosage according to creatinine clearance between 40 and 80 ml / min - 250 mg daily; between 20 and 40 ml / min - 250 mg every 2 days.
