Main symptoms
Cyclic vomiting syndrome is characterized by intense and repeated attacks of vomiting that alternate with periods of pause, without the person having any other symptoms. It is not known exactly what can trigger this syndrome, however it could be seen that some people experience frequent vomiting attacks in days prior to any important commemorative date such as a birthday, holiday, party or vacation.
The person who has 3 or more episodes of vomiting in 6 months, has an interval between crises and does not know the reason that triggered the successive vomiting is likely to have cyclic vomiting syndrome.
Some people report having symptoms other than the frequent presence of vomiting, such as abdominal pain, diarrhea, intolerance to light, dizziness and migraine.
One of the complications of this syndrome is dehydration, and it is recommended that the person go to a hospital to have the treatment done by administering serum directly into the vein.
