Adenitis, popularly called a tongue, is the inflammation of some lymph node in the body that can be caused by several factors such as acute infections or chronic diseases, for example.
Symptoms of Adenitis
- Fever; Feeling cold. Slight flushing of the skin; Sore lump that may be the size of a pea, a plum seed or the size of a lemon.
Adenitis is more frequent in the neck, armpits and groins, but can affect any lymph nodes in the body.
Causes of Adenitis
Adenitis can be caused by:
- infection, acute inflammation or even due to chronic diseases.

Adenitis Treatment
The treatment for adenitis is to eliminate its cause and it may sometimes be necessary to remove the inflamed ganglion surgically.
