Caapeba is a medicinal plant, also known as catajé, malvarisco, or pariparoba, widely used in the treatment of digestion difficulties and infections in the urinary system.
Its scientific name is Pothomorphe peltata and can be purchased at compounding pharmacies and in some health food stores.

How to use caapeba
For therapeutic use, the leaves, roots, barks and seeds of caapeba are used.
- Tea for urinary tract infection: Add 30 grams of Caapeba in 750 ml of boiling water. Drink a cup 3 times a day. Compresses for skin problems: Grind the parts of the caapeba and boil. Then put on compresses or use in baths.
Side effects of caapeba
Side effects of caapeba include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, colic, fever, headache, skin allergy and tremors.
