Repaglinide

Replaglinide is the active substance in an antidiabetic medication known commercially as Novonorm.

This oral medication is indicated for the treatment of diabetes in individuals who are not dependent on insulin. The action of Repaglinide consists of the release of insulin from the cells of the pancreas, thus regulating the concentration of sugar in the blood.

How to use Repaglinide

Oral use

Adults (Treated with other medications)

• Starting with the administration of 1 or 2 mg before each meal, the dose can be adjusted, at least 1 week apart, using up to 4 mg before meals.

Adults (Not treated with another medicine)

• Start with the administration of 0.5 mg before each meal, and the dose can be adjusted over an interval of one week, using up to 4 mg before meals.
