Actemra is a drug indicated for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis, relieving the symptoms of pain, swelling and pressure and inflammation in the joints. In addition, when used in conjunction with other medications, Actemra is also indicated for the treatment of polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis and systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
This drug has in its composition Tocilizumab, an antibody that blocks the action of a protein responsible for causing chronic inflammation in Rheumatoid Arthritis, thus preventing the immune system from attacking healthy tissues.

How to take

Some of the side effects of Actemra may include respiratory infection, inflammation under the skin with discomfort, redness and pain, pneumonia, herpes, pain in the belly area, thrush, gastritis, itching, hives, headache, dizziness, cholesterol increase, weight gain, cough, shortness of breath and conjunctivitis.
Contraindications
Actemra is contraindicated for patients with severe infections and for patients with allergies to Tocilizumab or any of the components of the formula.
