- How to use Budesonide
Budesonide is an anti-inflammatory drug, known commercially as Budecort.
This medicine for nasal use, or by inhalation, is used to treat respiratory diseases, such as asthma and allergic rhinitis.
Budesonide is effective mainly due to its effect on the bronchi, which considerably reduces inflammatory cells in that location, causing initial relief of allergic symptoms within 10 hours.
Indications for Budesonide
Chronic bronchial asthma; allergic rhinitis; seasonal rhinitis; non-allergic rhinitis; prevention and treatment of nasal polyp.
Side effects of Budesonide
Headache; sinusitis; inflammation of the throat; respiratory infection; nasal irritation; urticaria; dermatitis; itch.
Contraindications for Budesonide
Pregnancy risk B; lactating women; children under 6 years of age; individuals hypersensitive to corticosteroids or any component of the formula.
How to use Budesonide
Inhalation use
Adults
- Inhale 200 to 400 mcg of Budesonide solution, 1 or 2 times a day. Use the inhaler provided in the product packaging.
Children (6 years of age or older)
- Inhale 200 mcg of Budesonide solution, 2 times a day.
Nasal Use
Adults and children over 12 years
- Apply 100 mcg of Budesonide to each nostril once a day. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 100 mcg, twice a day.
