Potaba is a medicine used to treat skin and muscle diseases, such as dermatomyositis or Peyronie's disease, helping to make the skin more flexible and preventing the formation of fibrosis plaques. The active ingredient in Potaba is potassium P-aminobenzoate.
Potaba can be sold in tablet form and is marketed by the Glenwood GmbH laboratory.
Indications of Potaba
Potaba is indicated for diseases such as scleroderma, dermatomyositis, morphea and linear scleroderma, pemphigus, Peyronie's disease and fibrosis.
How to use Potaba
The use of Potaba consists of taking 12g per day, divided into 4 or 6 times, after meals, according to the doctor's guidance. In children, the amount should be 220 mg of Potaba for each kg of the child's body weight, divided into 4 or 6 times, after meals.
Side effects of Potaba
Side effects of Potaba can be anorexia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, fever, redness, itching, headache and nervousness.
Contraindications for Potaba
Potaba is contraindicated for patients with hypersensitivity to any component of the formula, as well as in individuals who are taking sulfonamide antibiotics. It is also contraindicated in pregnant or breastfeeding women.
