Rabeprazole is the anti-ulcer drug substance known commercially as Pariet.

This medication for oral use is ulcers in the stomach and intestine, since its action inhibits the secretion of acids in these organs, mitigating symptoms.

Duodenal ulcer (active); gastric ulcer (active benign); gastroesophageal reflux (symptomatic).

Oral use

Adults

• Ulcer: 20 mg, in a single daily dose in the morning. In duodenal ulcer, some patients respond well to 10 mg per day. On average, duodenal ulcers usually heal in 4 weeks and gastric ulcers in 6 weeks. Gastroesophageal reflux: 20 mg, in a single daily dose in the morning, for 4 to 8 weeks.
