How to use
Generally for adults the dose can vary between 5 and 60 mg per day and for children between 0.14 and 2 mg / kg of weight per day, or from 4 to 60 mg per square meter of body surface per day.
The dosage can be changed by the doctor, however, the maximum dose should not exceed 80 mg per day.
Possible side effects
Some of the most common side effects that may occur during treatment with Predsim are increased appetite and indigestion, gastric or duodenal ulcer, with possible perforation and bleeding, pancreatitis, ulcerative esophagitis, nervousness, tiredness and insomnia, localized allergic reaction, cataract, increased intraocular pressure, glaucoma, bulging eyes, increased occurrence of eye infection by fungi and viruses.
In addition, prediabetes or diabetes may also manifest in people with a tendency to diabetes or worsening glycemic control, and it may be necessary to increase the dose of insulin or oral antidiabetic drugs.
Who should not use
Predsim is contraindicated in patients with systemic yeast infections, hypersensitivity to prednisolone or other corticosteroids or to any component of its formula.
In addition, it should also not be administered to people who are undergoing treatment with phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampicin or ephedrine, as it reduces their therapeutic effects.
