- 1.5 liter of water; 3 teaspoons of dried witch hazel leaves.
Method of preparation
Place a few leaves of witch hazel in a pan, along with the water, and bring to a boil. Strain and, when cool, put in a basin and take a sitz bath for 20 minutes, daily.
Witch hazel compresses
These witch hazel compresses also help to treat hemorrhoids bringing good relief from the discomfort they cause.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons of chopped witch hazel leaves; 30 ml of mineral oil; 1 clean gauze.
Method of preparation
For compresses, just knead some witch hazel leaves with a pestle and then add the mineral oil little by little, until it becomes a more uniform mixture. Apply the gauze together with the leaves in the region and let it act for 30 minutes.
Pain and swelling usually subside and hemorrhoids disappear in a period that can vary between four to six days, but if symptoms persist, a doctor should be consulted.
