Sofosbuvir is a pill medicine used to treat chronic hepatitis C in adults. This medicine is able to cure up to 90% of hepatitis C cases due to its action that prevents the hepatitis virus from multiplying, weakening it and helping the body to eliminate it completely.
Sofosbuvir is sold under the trade name Sovaldi and is produced by Gilead laboratories. Its use should only be done under medical prescription and should never be used as the only remedy for the treatment of hepatitis C, and should therefore be used in combination with other remedies for chronic hepatitis C.

Side effects of Sovaldi include decreased appetite and weight, insomnia, depression, headache, dizziness, anemia, nasopharyngitis, coughing, difficulty breathing, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, fatigue, irritability, redness and itching of the skin, chills and pain muscles and joints.
Contraindications for Sofosbuvir
Sofosbuvir (Sovaldi) is contraindicated in patients under the age of 18 and in patients with hypersensitivity to the components of the formula. In addition, this remedy should be avoided in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
