Vinblastine

Vinblastine is an antineoplastic medication known commercially as Velban.

This injectable drug is indicated for the treatment of various types of cancer, including breast, kidney and testicular cancer. Its action is to inhibit cell division by preventing the proliferation of cancer cells by the body.

Breast cancer; testicular cancer; kidney cancer; Hodgkin's lymphoma; Kaposi's sarcoma; histicitosis X; mycosis fungoides; ovarian tumor.

How to use Vimblastina

Injectable Use

Adults

• Administer 0.1 mg of vinblastine per kg of body weight, with successive weekly increases of the order of 0.05 mg per kg of weight, until the leukocyte count drops to 3, 000 per cubic meter, or until the size of the tumor.
