Mesotherapy: technique to treat stretch marks and cellulite

Anonim

Mesotherapy is a treatment that consists of applying micro injections with vitamins, enzymes or medications to the skin, indicated to combat cellulite, localized fat, aging, and even hair loss.

Generally, mesotherapy does not hurt because an anesthetic cream is applied before the injections and, therefore, no type of anesthesia is necessary, allowing you to return home shortly after the procedure.

Indications for mesotherapy

Mesotherapy is done with the application of several injections, in the most superficial layers of the skin, with a mixture of medicines, vitamins and minerals that vary according to the problem to be treated. The number of sessions and the interval between each session varies according to the problem to be treated and its degree of development.

So the treatment for the most common problems is usually done as follows:

1. Cellulite

In that case remedies are used, such as Hyaluronidase and Collagenase, which help to destroy the bands of fibrotic tissue in the skin and between the fat cells, improving the appearance of the skin.

Duration of treatment: 3 to 4 mesotherapy sessions are usually required at intervals of about 1 month, to treat cases of moderate cellulitis.

2. Localized fat

Mesotherapy is also indicated to reduce waist and hip measurements to improve body contour. In these cases, it is done with the injection of medications such as Phosphatidylcholine or Sodium deoxycholate that make the fat membranes more permeable, facilitating their mobilization and elimination.

Duration of treatment: it is usually necessary to do 2 to 4 sessions at intervals of 2 to 4 weeks.

3. Aging of the skin

To help rejuvenate the skin, mesotherapy uses the injection of different vitamins, such as Vitamin A, C and E, along with glycolic acid, for example. This mixture allows to exfoliate the skin and regulate the production of new skin cells and collagen that guarantee firmness and reduction of skin spots.

Duration of treatment: in most cases of rejuvenation, only 4 sessions are necessary, with intervals between 2 to 3 weeks.

4. Hair loss

In hair loss, mesotherapy injections are usually done with a mixture of remedies like Minoxidil, Finasteride and Lidocaine. In addition, a multivitamin complex with hormones can also be injected that facilitates the growth of new hair and strengthens the remaining hair, preventing hair loss.

Duration of treatment: 3 to 4 sessions are usually required at intervals of about 1 month to treat cases of moderate hair loss.

Contraindications

Although the total doses injected into the skin are reduced and side effects are rare, mesotherapy should not be used in cases such as:

  • Body mass index over 30 kg / m2; Age under 18 years; Pregnancy; Treatment with anticoagulant drugs or for heart problems; Liver or kidney diseases; Autoimmune diseases such as AIDS or lupus.

In addition, the technique should also not be used when it is necessary to use drugs for which you are hypersensitive.
