Hematology is the part of medicine intended for the study of blood. It aims to know all the constituent elements of blood such as red blood cells, leukocytes and platelets, studies how they are produced and in which organs, including bone marrow, spleen and lymph nodes.
In addition to studying blood with its normal characteristics, it also studies all blood disorders and disorders that cause serious diseases.
Doctors who specialize in this area are called hematologists, they are responsible for treating people with blood disorders or changes in the tissues or organs involved in blood production. They are also responsible for analyzing the collected tests and diagnosing diseases such as anemia, leukemia and hemophilia.
