Hyaluronidase is an enzyme used to facilitate the absorption of injectable fluids, temporarily reducing the viscosity of connective tissue making it more permeable to the diffusion of fluids.
This drug for injectable use, administered subcutaneously or intramuscularly, may be known commercially as Hyalozyme.
Indications
Increase the speed of absorption and decrease the discomfort of subcutaneous or intramuscular injection of fluids; Optimize the reabsorption of excess liquid and blood leaking into the tissues; increase the effectiveness of local anesthesia.
Side effects
Formation of nodules that tend to disappear with treatment discontinuation; redness.
Contraindications
In anesthetic procedures in case of premature birth; edema due to animal bites or bites; directly in the cornea, infected areas; close to cancerous areas.
