How to use Meropenem
Injectable Use
Adults and Teens
- Antibacterial: Administer 1 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours. Infection of the skin and soft tissues: Administer 500 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
Children from 3 years of age and up to 50 kg in weight:
- Intra-abdominal infection: Administer 20 mg per kg of weight of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours. Infection of the skin and soft tissues: Administer 10 mg per kg of weight of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours. Meningitis: Administer 40 mg per kg of weight of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
Children over 50 kg in weight:
- Intra-abdominal infection: Administer 1 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours. Meningitis: Administer 2 g of Meropenem intravenously every 8 hours.
