How to use
Nitrofurantoin capsules should be taken with food in order to reduce adverse gastrointestinal effects.
The recommended dose is 1 capsule of 100 mg every 6 hours for 7 to 10 days. If it is necessary to use the medicine in the long term, the dosage can be reduced to 1 capsule a day, before bedtime.
Who should not use
This medicine is contraindicated in people who are hypersensitive to any of the components present in the formula, people with anuria, oliguria and in some cases of kidney failure.
In addition, it should also not be used in children under one month of age, women who are breastfeeding and in pregnant women, especially during the last weeks of pregnancy.

Possible side effects
Some of the most common side effects that can occur during treatment with nitrofurantoin are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, epigastric pain, anorexia and interstitial pneumonia.
