Ovulation is the name given to the moment when the egg is released by the ovary and reaches the fallopian tubes, being ready to be fertilized by the sperm and start the pregnancy.
Ovulation occurs during the fertile period, on the most fertile day, which is the middle of the menstrual cycle, in all healthy women.

How to know when ovulation is

Are ovulation and fertile period the same thing?
Ovulation and the fertile period are almost the same, since ovulation happens during the woman's fertile period, that is, when there is a greater chance of becoming pregnant. Without ovulation there is no fertile period and you cannot get pregnant.
Ovulation occurs when the egg matures inside the ovary and is then sent to the fallopian tubes, where it will wait for the sperm to arrive. The best time to get pregnant is between 11 and 16 days after the first day of your last period.
