Indications

Side effects
Side effects of the attenuated herpes zoster vaccine may include allergy reactions with redness, itching or hives on the skin, fever, joint and muscle pain and swelling, redness and hives at the injection site.
Contraindications
The herpes zoster vaccine is contraindicated for pregnant women, for patients with compromised immune systems or who use corticosteroids and for patients who have untreated active tuberculosis.
