Descon is a medicine used for the treatment of influenza, whose active ingredient is paracetamol, phenylephrine hydrochloride and chlorphenamin maleate.
Descon works by improving symptoms related to colds and flu and can be found in the form of capsules, drops or oral solution.
Indications
Nasal obstructions, runny nose, headaches, muscle pain and fever.
Contraindications
Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components; patient with hypertension, diabetes, heart problems, chronic kidney disease, liver problems, thyroid dysfunction, pregnancy and lactation.
Side effects
Sedation, drowsiness, palpitations, anxiety, tremor, insomnia, gastric discomfort, low blood pressure. Continued use of this medication can lead to problems with blood clotting.
How to use
Capsules:
- Adults: 1 to 2 capsules every 4 hours. Children over 12 years: 1 capsule every 4 hours.
Oral Solution:
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1 teaspoon (10 mL) every 4 hours. Children 6 to 12 years: 1 teaspoon (5 mL) every 4 hours.
Drops:
- From 4 to 6 years: 25 to 35 drops 3 to 4 times a day. From 2 to 4 years: 17 to 25 drops 3 to 4 times a day.
