The teas of jurubeba, thistle, artichoke or boldo are excellent options of home remedies to fight yellow fever because they help to improve the health of the liver that is affected in this disease.
However, these teas only complement the treatment that should be indicated by the doctor, which can be done with analgesics and antipyretics that do not contain acetylsalicylic acid, so as not to increase the risk of bleeding.
Drinking plenty of fluids and prefer easily digestible foods is also important to recover faster and so it is advisable to eat more fruits and vegetables with every meal and prefer to drink water, natural fruit juice or teas, avoiding alcoholic beverages and soft drinks at that stage.
Here's how to prepare and consume each of these medicinal plants:
1. Jurubeba tea
Jurubeba has liver protective, digestive properties to purify the blood, decrease fever and unclog the liver and spleen and therefore help to alleviate yellow fever symptoms such as fever, vomiting and yellow skin and eyes.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of jurubeba leaves 500 ml of water
Method of preparation
Bring the water to a boil and after boiling, add the jurubeba leaves. Then let it warm, strain and drink 3 cups of warm, unsweetened tea a day.
2. Thistle
Thistle is good for purifying the liver, strengthening the cell membrane so that toxins do not penetrate the cell so easily. It is usually consumed in capsules or granules because its tea is not commonly used. Thistle can be consumed in the form of capsules or tablets, but tea is a great homemade option:

- 150 ml of boiling water2 tablespoons of crushed sea thistle fruits

Put the hot water on the leaves and let it stand for 15 minutes. Strain and drink 3 to 4 cups a day.
Its consumption is contraindicated in pregnancy and breastfeeding.
3. Artichoke
Artichoke helps to lower cholesterol and improves the functioning of the liver and pancreas. Its leaves can be consumed cooked in water and salt, but it is also recommended the alcoholic extract prepared with these leaves. Another possibility is to take artichoke capsules that can be purchased at pharmacies and health food stores. For tea:

- 1 tablespoon of crushed artichoke leaves

Put the hot water on the leaves and let it stand for 10 minutes. Strain and take 1 cups before each meal.
It is contraindicated for pregnant women and during breastfeeding due to lack of scientific proof of its safety in these phases.
4. Boldo
The boldo soothes and improves digestion and protects the liver from the effects of free radicals, being useful to assist the function of this organ. It can be found in tablets, pills, but it is easily found in Brazil, being present in many backyards and flower boxes. For tea:

Method of preparation:
Put the hot water on the leaves and let it stand for 10 minutes. Strain and take 2 to 3 cups a day.
It should not be used in case of biliary obstruction, or for more than 4 consecutive weeks. It is also discouraged during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
