Dulcolax is a laxative for oral or rectal use, whose active ingredient is the bisacodyl substance and is used in the treatment of constipation.
This medicine performs its laxative effect, causing irritation in the intestine and, as a consequence, an increase in bowel movement, helping to eliminate feces. Dulcolax is indicated for the treatment of constipation, to loosen the intestine in the preparation of exams, after surgery and for bedridden patients.
How to use
Usually the doctor recommends a single dose ingested, before breakfast or at bedtime, accompanied with a glass of water or fruit juice. Generally, doses are indicated according to age, with adults taking 10-15 mg and children up to 6 years of age between 5-10 mg.
