Against Elonva's indications
Alpha corifolitropine, active ingredient, of Elonva is contraindicated in patients who present hypersensitivity (allergy) to the active substance or to any of the excipients in the product formula, patients with tumors of the ovary, breast, uterus, pituitary or hypothalamus, abnormal vaginal bleeding (non-menstrual) with no known and diagnosed cause, primary ovarian failure, enlarged ovarian or ovarian cysts, a history of ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (SHEO), a previous cycle of EOC that resulted in more than 30 follicles greater than or equal to 11 mm shown by ultrasound examination, an initial count of antral follicles greater than 20, fibrous tumors of the uterus incompatible with pregnancy, malformations of the reproductive organs incompatible with pregnancy.
This medication is not indicated for women who are pregnant, or who suspect they may be pregnant, or who are breastfeeding.
Side effects of Elonva
The most frequently reported adverse events are ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, pain, pelvic discomfort, headache (headache), nausea (feeling like vomiting), fatigue (tiredness) and breast complaints (including increased breast sensitivity), among others.
How to use Elonva
The recommended dose for women with a body weight greater than or equal to 60 kg is 100 mcg in a single injection and for women weighing more than 60 kg, the recommended dose is 150 mcg, in a single injection.
Elonva (alfacorifolitropina) must be administered as a single injection subcutaneously, preferably in the abdominal wall, during the initial follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.
Elonva (alfacorifolitropina) is intended exclusively for a single injection by the subcutaneous route. Additional injections of Elonva (alfacorifolitropina) should not be made within the same treatment cycle.
The injection must be administered by a health professional (for example, a nurse), by the patient herself or by her partner, provided they are informed by the doctor.
