Minocycline is an oral medication, known commercially as Minomax.
This medication is an antibacterial, which works by eliminating bacteria from the body and ameliorating the symptoms of diseases such as gonorrhea and syphilis.
Minocycline Indications
Acnes; ulcerative gingivitis; gonorrhea; syphilis.
Minocycline side effects
Diarrhea; loss of appetite; skin allergies; nausea; dizziness; vomiting; vertigo; increased blood urea.
Minocycline contraindications
Risk pregnancy D; lactating women; hypersensitivity to Minocycline.
How to use Minocycline
Oral use
Adults
- Gonorrhea: Start treatment with 200 mg of Minocycline every 12 hours. then to 100 mg every 12 hours. Treatment should last at least 4 days. Syphilis: The amount must be the same as that used for the treatment of gonorrhea, however the treatment must have a minimum duration of 10 to 15 days.
