How to Use Mitotane
Oral use
Adults
- Kidney cancer (inoperable): Start treatment by administering 1 to 6 g per day, divided into 3 or 4 doses. Increase to 9 to 10 g per day if there is a good clinical response. If serious adverse reactions appear, reduce the dose to the maximum that is tolerated. The maximum daily dose indicated is 2 to 16 g. If no clinical benefits are observed after 3 months of treatment, at the maximum dose indicated, it is possible that the patient will not benefit from continuing treatment. Cushing's syndrome: Start treatment with administration of 1 to 12 g per day, in divided doses. The maintenance dose is between 500 mg (twice a week) to 2 g per day, for 3 months.
