How to Use Monopril
Oral Use: Take the medication before or after meals
Adults
Hypertension: First, you should discontinue treatment with diuretics 2 or 3 days before starting treatment with this medication, to reduce the risk of a sharp drop in pressure. The initial treatment should be done with the administration of 10 mg Monopril in a single daily dose. Maintenance doses can vary from 20 to 40 mg, depending on the patient's improvement.
Children from 6 years old and weighing over 50 kg
The starting dose should be 5 to 10 mg daily. The dose should be increased gradually until the desired effect is achieved. However, do not exceed 40 mg per day.
