Guaco syrup is a herbal remedy that has the medicinal plant Guaco ( Mikania glomerata Spreng ) as its active ingredient.

This medication acts as a bronchodilator, dilating the airways and expectorant, acting as an aid in the elimination of respiratory secretions, being useful in case of respiratory diseases such as bronchitis and colds.

Guaco syrup is indicated to fight respiratory problems such as flu, cold, sinusitis, rhinitis, bronchitis, phlegm cough, asthma, whooping cough, sore throat, hoarseness.

How to take

It is recommended to take guaco syrup as follows:

  • Adults: 5 ml, 3 times a day; Children over 5 years: 2.5 ml, 3 times a day; Children between 2 and 4 years: 2.5 ml, only twice a day.

Its use should be 7 days, and in the most severe cases, 14 days, and should not be used any longer. If the symptoms do not disappear, a new medical consultation is recommended.

The syrup should be stirred before use.

Possible side effects

Guaco syrup can cause vomiting, diarrhea, increased blood pressure. People who are allergic to syrup may find it difficult to breathe and cough.

Contraindications
