• Adults and children over 10 years: 10 to 20 drops; Children between 4 and 10 years: 5 to 10 drops; Children under 4 years old: 0.25 mg of medicine for each kilogram of weight.

Normally, sodium Picosulfate takes 6 to 12 hours to take effect, and it is recommended to ingest the medicine during the night to present a bowel movement in the morning.

Side effects of sodium picosulfate

The main side effects of sodium picosulfate include diarrhea, abdominal cramps, abdominal discomfort, dizziness, vomiting and nausea.

Contraindications for sodium picosulfate

Sodium Picosulfate is contraindicated for patients with paralytic ileus, bowel obstruction, serious problems such as appendicitis and other acute inflammations, pain in the belly accompanied by nausea and vomiting, severe dehydration, fructose intolerance or hypersensitivity to Picosulfate. In addition, sodium picosulfate should only be used in pregnancy under the guidance of the obstetrician.
