A great homemade solution to treat tired feet and relieve the pain at the end of the day is to do a self-massage using almond oil, after doing a good scalding to leave your muscles relaxed.
1. How to make the foot scald
Relaxing scalding is quite easy, just:
- Put a little warm water in a bowl and add 2 tablespoons of table salt; Soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes; Dry your feet well and rub a little almond oil over your hands, spreading it well across your feet.
Then, to enhance the relaxing effect of scalding foot, a massage can be done. If you do not have someone who can do the massage, you can also do a self-massage as explained below.
2. How to do foot massage
To do the massage you should sit with your legs crossed, so that you can apply a small amount of almond oil to your feet. Enough to slide your hands well. Then, you must follow these steps:
- Apply pressure with your fingertips to the sole of your foot, starting at the soles of your feet up to the heel. Then repeat the movement to the sole of your foot again, and repeat these movements for 1 minute; Push the big toe against the sole of the foot, applying light pressure, sliding from the heel to the toes. Repeat as often as necessary until you have pressed all the regions of the sole; Hold one toe with your hand and press lightly, turning your hand to massage all parts of each toe; Hold all toes and bend forward, keeping the position for 30 seconds. Then, fold your fingers back and hold for another 30 seconds.
A good tip to reduce swelling in your feet throughout the day is to lie down and place a very high pillow under your feet, making them higher whenever you are lying back or lying on the bed or sofa. This position will help to drain excess fluid, reducing swelling and making your legs lighter.
