Zoplicona

Zoplicona is a hypnotic remedy used to treat insomnia, as it improves the quality of sleep and increases its duration. In addition to being hypnotic, this remedy also has sedative, anxiolytic, anticonvulsant and muscle relaxant properties.

Zoplicona is the active ingredient of the drug Imovane, produced by the Sanofi laboratory.

How to use Zoplicona

The method of use of Zoplicona consists of ingesting 7.5 mg of Zopiclone orally at bedtime.

Treatment should be as short as possible, not exceeding 4 weeks, including the adaptation period. Treatment time should not exceed the maximum period without pre-assessment of the patient's condition. The patient should lie down immediately after taking Zoplicona.

In the elderly the recommended dose is 3.75 mg.

Side Effects of Zoplicona

Side effects of Zoplicona can be residual morning drowsiness, a bitter mouth feeling and / or dry mouth, muscle hypotonia, anterograde amnesia or feeling drunk. In some patients, paradoxical reactions can be observed, such as irritability, aggressiveness, under-excitation, headache or weakness. It can cause dependence, changes in sleep parameters during discontinuous administration, auditory and visual hallucinations, CNS depression.

Abrupt withdrawal of the drug after prolonged treatment can lead to the possibility of minor incidents, such as irritability, anxiety, myalgia, tremors, insomnia and nightmares, nausea and vomiting.

Contraindications

Zoplicone is contraindicated in patients with known hypersensitivity to Zopiclone, severe respiratory failure, children under 15 years of age, pregnancy, lactation and myasthenia gravis.
