Spiramycin is a medicine known commercially as Rovamycin.
This medicine for oral use is an antibacterial, indicated for the treatment of infections caused by germs that usually attack the respiratory system, the skin and the genital regions.
Spiramycin Indications
Toxoplasmosis (during pregnancy); gingival abscess; stomatitis; gingivitis; periodontitis.
Side Effects of Spiramycin
Allergic manifestation on the skin; diarrhea; vomiting; nausea.
Contraindications for Spiramycin
Pregnant or lactating women; Hipersensibility to any of the formula's components.
How to use Spiramycin
Oral use
Adults
- Bacterial infection: Administer 1 to 2 g of Spiramycin, 2 times a day or 500 mg to 1 g, 3 times a day. In severe infections, the recommended dose is 2 to 2.5 mg twice a day. Toxoplasmosis in pregnant women: in the first trimester of pregnancy, 3 g of Spiramycin should be administered daily, divided into 3 or 4 doses. Dental problems: Administer 4 to 6 Spiramicin tablets divided into 3 to 4 doses, for 5 to 10 days.
