How to use Lantus insulin

Due to the non-peak glucose reduction profile with long duration of action of Lantus, the dose is administered subcutaneously once a day. It can be administered at any time of the day, however, at the same time and every day.

Side effects of Lantus include hypoglycemia, temporary visual disturbances, lipodystrophy and allergic reactions at the injection site.

Contraindications to Lantus insulin

Lantus is contraindicated for patients with hypersensitivity to insulin glargine or any of the components of the formula, and for children under 6 years of age.
