Lanvis is an antineoplastic medication that has Thioguanine as its active substance.
This medicine for oral use is indicated for the treatment of some types of leukemia and for some blood diseases that are not related to cancer.
Lanvis indications
Acute lymphocytic leukemia; acute myelocytic leukemia; chronic myelocytic leukemia; chronic granulocytic leukemia.
Side effects of Lanvis
Diarrhea; inflammation in the mouth; nausea; loss of appetite; vomiting; anemia; increased levels of uric acid in the blood and urine; yellowish color on the skin or eyes; liver toxicity; fever; weakness; bone marrow depression.
Lanvis contraindications
Pregnancy risk D; lactating women; history of resistance to medication.
How to use Lanvis
Oral use
Adults and children
- Start treatment with the administration of 2 mg per kg of body weight, in a single daily dose. If no toxic effect occurs, the dose should be increased gradually and within 4 weeks it should reach 3 mg per kg of body weight.
Maintenance dose: 2 to 3 mg of Lanvis per kg of body weight, in a single daily dose.
