How to use Mefloquine
Oral use
Adults
- Malaria prevention: Administer 250 mg of Mefloquine, once a week. Start treatment 1 or 2 weeks before going to a risky region and continue taking the medication 4 weeks after returning. Malaria treatment: Administer 1, 250 mg of mefloquine in a single dose.
Children (Malaria Prevention)
- 15 to 19 kg: Administer 62.5 mg of Mefloquine. 20 to 30 kg; Administer 125 mg of Mefloquine. 31 to 45 kg: administer 187.5 mg of Mefloquine. Over 45 kg: Same dose as adults with Mefloquine.
