Spasmoplex is a drug that contains in its composition, tropium chloride, indicated for the treatment of urinary incontinence or in cases where the person has a frequent need to urinate.
This medicine is available in packs of 20 or 60 tablets and can be purchased in pharmacies upon presentation of a prescription.
What is it for
Spasmoplex is an antispasmodic of the urinary tract, indicated in the treatment of the following situations:
- Overactive bladder with symptoms of frequent urination; Involuntary changes in the autonomic function of the bladder, of non-hormonal or organic origin; Irritable bladder; Urinary incontinence.

How to take
The usual recommended dose is 1 20 mg tablet, twice a day, preferably before meals, on an empty stomach and with a glass of water.
In some cases, the doctor may change the dosage of the medicine.
Who should not use
Spasmoplex should not be used in people who are hypersensitive to any of the components of the formula, who suffer from urinary retention, closed-angle glaucoma, tachyarrhythmia, muscle weakness, inflammation of the large intestine, abnormally large colon and kidney failure.
In addition, this medicine should also not be used in children under the age of 12, pregnant women or women who are breast-feeding, unless recommended by the doctor.
Possible side effects
Some of the most common side effects that may occur during treatment with Spasmoplex are inhibition of sweat production, dry mouth, digestion disorders, constipation, abdominal pain and nausea.
Although it is more rare, in some cases there may also be disturbances in urination, increased heart rate, impaired vision, diarrhea, flatulence, difficulty breathing, rash, weakness and pain in the chest.
