How to use Bactrim
How to use Bactrim is usually:
- Adults and children over 12 years: 1 or 2 tablets, every 12 hours, after the main meals; Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 measure of pediatric suspension (10 ml), every 12 hours or according to medical instructions; Children aged 6 months to 5 years: ½ measure of pediatric suspension (5 ml) every 12 hours; Children under 5 months: ¼ measure pediatric suspension (2.5 ml) every 12 hours.
However, depending on the type of infection, the doctor may recommend a different dosage to the patient.
Side Effects of Bactrim
The main side effects of Bactrim include nausea, vomiting, allergic reactions, fungal infections or liver problems.
Bactrim contraindications
Bactrim is contraindicated for newborns and patients with liver, kidney or treatment with Dofetilide. In addition, Bactrim should also not be used by patients who are hypersensitive to Sulfonamide or Trimethoprim.
