How to use Azathioprine

Oral use

Adults

  • Organ transplantation: Administer 3 to 5 mg per kg of body weight of Azathioprine daily. The amount administered can be done in a single dose and treatment must start on the day of the transplant or up to 3 days before. Severe rheumatoid arthritis: Administer 1 mg per kg of body weight of Azathioprine daily, in a single dose or divided into 2 doses.

Children

  • Organ transplantation: Administer 3 to 5 mg per kg of body weight of Azathioprine daily.
