How Laser Sclerotherapy Works
Laser sclerotherapy reduces microvessels by increasing the temperature inside the vessel by emitting a light, which causes the blood trapped inside to be moved to another vessel and the vessel to be destroyed and reabsorbed by the body. The heat causes a small inflammation in the area, causing the varicose veins to close and lose their function.

When to do
Laser sclerotherapy is indicated for people who are afraid of the needle, have allergies to the chemical substance that is normally used or have a region in the body with many small vessels.
It is a quick procedure that lasts about 20 to 30 minutes per session and that there is not much pain compared to other procedures.
Care before and after laser sclerotherapy
It is important to take some precautions to perform laser sclerotherapy and also after the procedure, such as:
- Avoid the sun 30 days before and after the procedure in the area to be treated; Use sunscreen; Do not perform artificial tanning; Avoid epilation in the treated region 20 to 30 days after the procedure; Use moisturizers.
Laser sclerotherapy is not indicated for tanned, mulatto and black people, as it can cause skin damage, such as the appearance of blemishes.
