Frontal is an anxiolytic that has alprazolan as its active ingredient. This medicine works by depressing the central nervous system and therefore produces a tranquilizing effect. The frontal XR is the extended-release tablet version.
During frontal treatment, you should not drink alcoholic beverages, as it increases its depressant effect. This medicine can cause addiction.
Indications
Anxiety; Panic Syndrome.
Side effects
Anxious patients: drowsiness; depression; Headache; dry mouth; intestinal constipation; diarrhea; imminent falling sensation.
Panic syndrome patients: drowsiness; fatigue; lack of coordination; irritability; memory change; dizziness; insomnia; Headache; cognitive disorders; difficulty to speak; anxiety; abnormal involuntary movements; altered sexual desire; depression; mental confusion; decreased salivation; intestinal constipation; nausea; vomiting; diarrhea; stomach ache; nasal congestion; increased heart rate; chest pain; blurred vision; sweats; rash on the skin; increased appetite; decreased appetite; weight gain; weight loss; difficulty urinating; alteration of menstruation; imminent falling sensation.
Generally, the initial side effects disappear with continued treatment.
Contraindications
Pregnancy risk D; people with liver or kidney problems; breast-feeding; under 18 years old.
How to use
Anxiety: start with 0.25 to 0.5 mg up to three times a day. The maximum daily dose should not exceed 4 mg.
Panic syndrome: Take 0.5 or 1 mg before bed or 0.5 mg 3 times a day, evolving 1 mg per day every 3 days. The maximum dose in these cases can reach 10 mg.
Note:
Type XR tablets, have extended release. Initially, 1 mg should be taken once or twice a day in case of anxiety, but in cases of panic syndrome, start with 0.5 mg twice a day. In the case of the elderly, doses should be reduced.
