The generic for novalgine is sodium dipyrone which is the main component of this medicine from the Sanofi-Aventis laboratory. Sodium dipyrone, in its generic version, is also manufactured by several pharmaceutical laboratories such as Medley, Eurofarma, EMS, Neo Química.
The generic of novalgine is indicated as an analgesic and antipyretic and can be found in the form of tablets, suppositories or solution for injection.

Pain and fever.
Contraindications
Patients with hypersensitivity to dipyrone or any component of the formula, pregnant, breastfeeding, asthma, 6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, children under 3 months or under 5 kg, children under 4 years (suppository), Children less than 1 year old (intravenous), porphyria, allergic reaction to drugs, allergy to pyrazoleonic derivatives, chronic respiratory infection.
Adverse effects
Hematological reactions (reduction of white blood cells), transient low pressure, skin manifestations (rash) may occur. In isolated cases, Stevens-Johnson syndrome or Lyell syndrome.
How to use
Oral use
- 1000 mg tablet:
- Adults and adolescents over 15 years: ½ tablet up to 4 times a day or 1 tablet
up to 4 times a day.
- Adults and adolescents over 15 years: 1 to 2 tablets up to 4 times a day.
- Adults and adolescents over 15 years:
- 20 to 40 drops in a single administration or up to a maximum of 40 drops 4 times a day.

- Adults and adolescents over 15 years: in a single dose of 2 to 5 ml (intravenous or intramuscular); maximum daily dose of 10 ml. Children and infants: below 1 year of age, NOVALGINE for injection should only be administered intramuscularly.
