Cobavital

Cobavital is a remedy used to stimulate the appetite that contains in its composition cobamamide, or vitamin B12, and cyproheptadine hydrochloride.

Cobavital can be found in the form of a tablet in a box with 16 units and in 100 ml syrup.

This remedy is produced by the Abbott Laboratory.

Cobavital is indicated to stimulate appetite, weight and height disorders of childhood, a state of weakness and anorexia and recovery from illness or surgery.

How to use Cobavital

How to use Cobavital tablet can be:

Children from 2 to 6 years: 1/2 to 1 tablet, twice a day, before meals. Children over 6 years: 1 tablet, twice a day, before meals. The daily dosage should not exceed 8 mg of cyproheptadine.Adults: 1 tablet, three times a day, before meals. The tablets are easily dispersed in water, juice, milk or in the mouth.

Cobavital in syrup should be taken:

Children aged 2 to 6 years: ¼ measuring cup (2.5 ml) to ½ measuring cup (5.0 ml), twice a day, before meals. Children over 6 years old: ½ measuring cup (5 ml), twice a day, before meals.Adults: ½ measuring cup (5 ml), three times a day, before meals. The daily dose of 12 mg of cyproheptadine is generally satisfactory. Larger doses are neither required nor recommended for appetite stimulation.

The dosage and dosage of the medication can be changed according to the doctor's discretion.
