Dorflex is a remedy indicated for the relief of pain associated with muscle contractures, including tension headache. This medicine has in its composition dipyrone, orphenadrine, which exert an analgesic and muscle relaxing action. In addition, it also contains caffeine, which is an adjunct in association with painkillers, increasing its action.
This medicine can be purchased in pharmacies in pill or oral solution, for a price of about 4 to 19 reais, depending on the size of the package and upon presentation of a prescription.
How to use
The dosage depends on the dosage form used:
1. Pills
The recommended dose is 1 to 2 tablets, 3 to 4 times a day, which must be administered with the help of a liquid, avoiding chewing the medication.
2. Oral solution
The recommended dose is 30 to 60 drops, 3 to 4 times a day, orally. Each mL of the oral solution is equivalent to about 30 drops.
Who should not use
Dorflex should not be used in people who are allergic or intolerant to analgesics similar to dipyrone, such as phenazone, propiphenazone, phenylbutazone, or oxyfembutazone, for example, or any of the components present in the formula, with insufficient bone marrow function or diseases of the hematopoietic system and who have developed bronchospasm or anaphylactoid reactions using pain medications.
In addition, it should also not be used in people with glaucoma, pyloric or duodenal obstruction, esophageal motor problems, stenosing peptic ulcer, with enlarged prostate, bladder neck obstruction and myasthenia gravis, intermittent acute hepatic porphyria, congenital glucose deficiency -6-phosphate-dehydrogenase and during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Possible side effects
The most common side effect that can occur during treatment with Dorflex is dry mouth and thirst.
In addition, there may also be a decrease or increase in heart rate, cardiac arrhythmias, decreased sweating, pupil dilation, blurred vision and anaphylactic reactions.
Does Dorflex lower the pressure?
One of the side effects of Dorflex is the decrease in blood pressure, however it is a rare adverse reaction and therefore, although there is this possibility, it is unlikely to happen.
