This medicine contains as active ingredients norethisterone acetate 2 mg and ethinyl estradiol 0.01 mg, which are able to prevent ovulation and hormonal production, thus modifying the tissue that lines the uterus internally and stopping the bleeding caused by the irregular flaking of the endometrium.

What is it for
Primosiston is indicated for the treatment of uterine bleeding, and to delay or anticipate the day of menstruation, as it is able to prevent ovulation and hormonal production, modifying the tissue that lines the uterus, the endometrium, stopping bleeding due to its flaking.
How to take
The use of Primosiston is indicated in the following ways:
- To stop bleeding caused by dysfunctional uterine bleeding:
The recommended dose is 1 tablet, 3 times a day, for 10 days, which stops uterine bleeding in 1 to 4 days, when it is not associated with any injury to the uterus.
Despite being variable, the bleeding usually decreases in the first days of the beginning of the treatment, which can extend for 5 to 7 days until it stops completely. - To anticipate menstruation 2 or 3 days:
Take 1 tablet 3 times a day, for at least 8 days, from the 5th day of the menstrual cycle, counting as the first day of menstruation the first day of the cycle. In this case, menstruation usually occurs 2 to 3 days after stopping the medication.
- To delay menstruation 2 to 3 days:
Take 1 tablet 3 times a day, for 10 to 14 days, taking the 1st tablet 3 days before the expected date of your next period. In this case, before use it is very important that the woman make sure that there is no pregnancy, for safe use, without risks to the baby's health if it is being generated.
Possible side effects
Primosiston is generally well tolerated, but sometimes unpleasant symptoms such as headache, nausea, feeling of breast tension and stomach pain can occur. When you take more pills than you should, symptoms such as nausea, vomiting and vaginal bleeding may appear.
This medication can interfere with the action of oral antidiabetics and is therefore not recommended for diabetic women.
Who should not use
Primosiston should not be used during pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergy to the components of the form, in case of breast cancer.
It should be used with caution if there is heart disease, any liver changes, sickle cell anemia or a previous episode of stroke or infarction.
In addition, it must be considered that Primosiston contains hormones but is not a contraceptive and therefore with its use it is recommended to use a condom in all intimate contact.
