How to use Quinine

The mode of use of Quinine varies according to the patient's age, the most common scheme being:

Adults and children over 12 years: 2 tablets of 650 mg of 8/8 hours; Children aged between 7 and 11 years: 1 tablet of 650 mg of 8/8 hours; Children aged between 4 and 6 years: 1 650 mg 12/12 hour tablet; Babies aged 1 to 3 years: ½ 650 mg 12/12 hour tablet; Babies up to 1 year: ¼ 650 mg 12/12 hour tablet.

Quinine doses can be changed according to the doctor's instructions.

Contraindications for Quinine

Quinine is contraindicated for pregnant women, as well as for patients with asthma, glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, inflammation of the optic nerve, anemia, blood disease, neuromuscular disease, hypoglycemia and ringing in the ears.
