Aliprazide is the active ingredient in the medicine known as Superan. This antiemetic promotes rapid emptying of the stomach by stimulating gastric movements and increasing the strength of the esophageal sphincter, preventing the feeling of nausea.
This medicine that does not have a generic is presented in drops that must be diluted in a glass of water. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation due to lack of conclusive studies.
Indications
Nausea and vomiting in cancer treatments.
Side effects
Stopping menstruation, breast enlargement, diarrhea, headache, facial spasm, involuntary movement or torticollis, drop in blood pressure, drowsiness, dizziness.
Contraindications
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, pheochromocytoma (tumors), difficulty in moving with the use of neuroleptic medication.
How to use
Oral use
Adults: 50 to 200 mg / day divided into 3 or 4 doses (dilute the drops in water).
Children: 5 mg / kg / day divided into 3 doses (dilute the drops in water).
Note:
The treatment should not exceed 7 days and during the treatment the consumption of alcoholic beverages is contraindicated.
