Indications
Emend is indicated to prevent nausea and vomiting after surgery or in patients undergoing chemotherapy.
How to use
Emend is used by adults in the form of tablets, the doctor usually recommending 125 mg chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting prevention, 1 hour before chemotherapy; followed by 80 mg, once a day, in the morning, for the next 2 days.
In the case of Prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting, 40 mg 3 hours before anesthesia induction is recommended.
Side effects
Some side effects of Emend include fatigue, weakness, constipation or diarrhea, poor appetite, nausea and hiccups.
Contraindications
The use of Emend is contraindicated in pregnancy, during breastfeeding and for children and adolescents under 18 years.
