This oil has antiseptic, hypotensive, antispasmodic, antidepressant, aphrodisiac and sedative properties, which give it several benefits. Ylang ylang can be used in different ways, such as in a massage, in a bath or through a diffuser, for example.
What are the benefits
Ylang ylang is widely used to assist in the treatment of depression and has calming properties that help to relieve stress, nervous and muscular tension and to calm palpitations, thus promoting relaxation and increasing mood. In addition, this essential oil can also be used to help treat hypertension and hyperventilation.
The essential oil of ylang ylang is also widely used in perfumes and cosmetic products for skin, hair and scalp care. It is also effective in treating acne and blemishes, as it stimulates cell renewal.
How to use
Ylang ylang is widely used in aromatherapy and can be done during a massage, mixing the massage oil with a few drops of essential oil or in the bath, diluting about 6 drops of Ylang ylang oil in another vegetable oil, such as almond for example and then go into the bath water and relax for about 30 minutes.
In addition, it can also be used in a diffuser, in perfumes and cosmetics or through inhalation by placing about 5 drops of the oil in a bowl of hot water and then placing a towel over your head and inhaling the steam for a few minutes.
Possible side effects
This oil is generally well tolerated, however if used in excess, it can cause nausea and headache.
