What is it for
Spidufen is indicated for the relief of mild to moderate pain in the following situations:
- Headache; Neuralgia; Menstrual colic; Toothache and dental post-surgical pain; Muscle and traumatic pain; Supporting in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis pain; Muscle and bone diseases in which pain and inflammation manifests.
In addition, this medication can also be used to relieve fever and treat symptomatic flu.
How it works
Spidufen contains ibuprofen and arginine in its composition.
Ibuprofen works by relieving pain, inflammation and fever by reversibly inhibiting the enzyme cycloxygenase.
Arginine is an amino acid that makes the drug more soluble, ensuring a rapid absorption of ibuprofen, making it act more quickly compared to drugs with ibuprofen alone. This way, Spidufen starts to take effect about 5 to 10 minutes after ingestion.
How to use
The dosage depends on the problem to be treated:
1. Spidufen 400
- Adults: For the treatment of mild to moderate pain, feverish conditions and the flu or menstrual cramps, the recommended dose is 1 400 mg envelope, 3 times a day. As an adjunct in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis pain, a daily dose of 1200 mg to 1600 mg is recommended divided into 3 or 4 administrations, which may, if necessary, be gradually increased to a maximum of 2400 mg per day. Children over 12 years old: The recommended daily dose is 20 mg / kg divided into 3 administrations. As an adjunct in the treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, the dose can be increased to 40 mg / kg / day, divided into 3 administrations. The maximum daily dose for children weighing less than 30 kg is 800 mg.
2. Spidufen 600
- Adults: For the treatment of mild or moderate pain, feverish conditions and the flu and menstrual cramps, the recommended dose is 1 600 mg envelope, twice a day. As an adjunct in the treatment of pain from chronic arthritic processes, a daily dose of 1200 mg to 1600 mg is recommended divided into 3 or 4 administrations, which may, if necessary, be gradually increased up to a maximum of 2400 mg per day. Children over 12 years old: The recommended daily dose is 20 mg / kg divided into 3 administrations. As an adjunct in the treatment of juvenile rheumatoid arthritis, the dose can be increased to 40mg / kg / day, divided into 3 administrations. The maximum daily dose for children weighing less than 30 kg is 800 mg.
The envelope of the Spidufen granules must be diluted with water or other liquid, and can be taken alone or with food. In general, it is recommended to take with meals or immediately after eating, in order to reduce the occurrence of stomach upset.
Contraindications
Spidufen should not be used by people who are hypersensitive to the components of the formula or to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, people with a history of bleeding or gastrointestinal perforation, related to treatment with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, with active stomach ulcer / bleeding or history of recurrence, with cerebral vascular bleeding, ulcerative colitis, hemorrhagic diathesis or with signs of heart, liver or severe renal failure.
It should also not be used in patients with phenylketonuria, fructose intolerance, glucose-galactose malabsorption or saccharin isomaltase deficiency.
In addition, this medicine should also not be used during pregnancy, especially during the third trimester, during lactation and in children under 12 years old.

Possible side effects
