Flupirtine is a medication known commercially as Katadolon.
This oral medication is an analgesic and muscle relaxant indicated for the treatment of headaches and joints.
Indications for Flupirtine
Headache; dysmenorrhea; neuritis; neuralgia; joint pain; post-surgical pain; pain from injuries, burns and scarring; toothache.
Side Effects of Flupirtine
Dry mouth; constipation; diarrhea; stomachache; nausea; vomiting; urticaria; itch; rash on the skin; visual disturbance; elevation of body temperature; dizziness; sweats; somnolence; depression; tremor; agitation; nervousness; gases; mental confusion; fever; hepatitis.
Contraindications for Flupirtine
Pregnant or lactating women; individuals with liver disease.
How to use Flupirtine
Oral use
Adults
- Administer 100 mg of Flupirtine 3 or 4 times a day. Treatment should not last longer than 4 weeks.
Dose limit for adults: 600 mg per day.
